David Yarborough's work experience includes diverse roles in various industries. David began their career in 1983 as a Search and Rescue Helicopter Pilot and later became a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, where they held mid to upper-level management positions and led a team of over 150 personnel. In 1998, they founded the Breath of Life Catholic Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on ministry, education, and community outreach. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Mathematics Instructor at Vermilion Catholic High School.
In 2010, Yarborough joined PHI Inc. and served as a Light Ship Instructor/Check Airman, providing training to new and current pilots in the Oil and Gas and Air Medical industries. David then moved to PHI Aviation in 2014, initially working as an IFR Captain S76 and later transitioning into the roles of Area Operations Manager, Senior Program Manager, and finally Program Director. In these positions, they managed pilots and a fleet of aircraft, played a crucial role in securing a 10-year contract, and resolved client issues, resulting in additional contracts.
Throughout their career, Yarborough has demonstrated a strong commitment to safety management systems, procedures, and initiatives in high-risk aviation operations.
David Yarborough attended the United States Coast Guard Academy from 1983 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. David later pursued further education at The University of Dallas from 1996 to 1998, but did not complete a degree. During their time at The University of Dallas, their field of study was Theology/Theological Studies.
