Brian Tidball, PhD, serves as Principal Investigator and Senior User Experience Researcher at Philips Sonicare, leading clinical studies and consumer research for oral healthcare products since January 2019. Previously, Brian held the position of Instructor for INDE 583 – Decision Analysis in Engineering at the University of Washington from February 2020 to July 2022 and served as Assistant Professor and Director of Systems Engineering Capstones at the US Air Force Academy from July 2015 to September 2018. Brian's extensive military career as an Air Force Officer from 1998 to September 2018 emphasized technical management and servant leadership, with significant contributions in human factors and systems engineering at various capacities. Notably, as Chief of the Combustion Devices Branch at the Air Force Research Laboratory from August 2012 to July 2015, Brian managed a $23M research portfolio on liquid rocket engines. Brian completed a PhD in Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology and holds multiple master's degrees in Human Factors Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from Wright State University.
