Karen Phillips MD

Karen Phillips MD, FCA, MBA is a Medical Safety Leader currently serving as Head of Medical Safety at Philips, where they direct the development and implementation of medical safety policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Previously, Karen worked as a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and served as a Staff Anesthesiologist at Western Health NL, where they also held the role of Physician Lead for Patient Safety. They have extensive experience in the medical device industry, including positions at Medtronic, where they contributed to product safety and strategic development. Karen earned an MBChB and FCA in Anaesthesia from the University of Cape Town and an MBA in Health Care Administration from West Texas A&M University.
