Lars Schmitt

Lars Schmitt is an accomplished R&D group leader at Philips since April 2020, overseeing the Algorithm & Data Science department and focusing on physiological measurement algorithms for patient monitoring products. Previously, Lars served as the director and international technical project leader for digital health at Grünenthal Group, leading projects in medically regulated digital health platforms. Lars holds extensive experience at Philips, where previous roles included senior scientist and project leader, contributing to innovations in in- and out-hospital care. Additionally, Lars has been active in international standardization efforts as chair of various task forces at Continua Health Alliance. Academic credentials include a PhD in Wireless Communications and Digital Signal Processing from RWTH Aachen University and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Ruhr University Bochum.
