Marcel Van Gils has extensive experience in the healthcare and marketing sectors, particularly with Philips since 2000. Currently serving as Head of Strategic Alliances and 3rd Party business, Marcel is responsible for defining and managing the Alliance strategy for the Image Guided Therapy Systems business. Previous roles at Philips include Director of Marketing, where leadership of an international team resulted in a five-year strategic plan and significant growth, along with development of marketing strategies for the Mobile Surgery and Mobile X-ray businesses. Marcel also held positions with the African Prisons Project and VSO, focusing on finance and marketing, and has contributed to the formation and branding of organizations in Uganda. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics from Fontys University and a Master's degree in Development Management from The Open University.
