Michael Blaney is currently a Staff Human Factors Engineer at Philips Healthcare, where they lead Human Factors Engineering efforts for cardiovascular devices. Previously, they held positions at companies including Medtronic and Acumed, focusing on usability design and product development for surgical devices. Michael also contributed to research at Stanford University's Linguistics Lab and Virtual Human Interaction Lab, exploring cognitive aspects of language and the applications of virtual reality. They earned a B.S. in Product Design Engineering and a minor in Classics from Stanford University. In recognition of their exceptional contributions to user-centered design, Michael received the 2021 Philips Value Award.
