Nicholas Smears

Nicholas Smears is a Senior IP Counsel at Philips, where they focus on patent law and IP creation. They have extensive experience in portfolio mining and assessment for licensing activities and possess a strong background in communications and semiconductor technologies. Nicholas previously held roles such as Senior Product Engineer at Nortel Semiconductors and Principal Product Engineer at STMicroelectronics, and they have contributed to various aspects of industrialization and product development throughout their career. They earned both a BSc in Materials Science and an MSc in Solid State Electronics from The University of Manchester.
