With over 160 years of history, Phillips is justly proud of its past. The shop has been located in its present location in Waterloo Mansions since the early 1920s. Since then, Phillips has been run by four successive generations of the Issa family. Over the years the firm has been fortunate to build long-standing relationships with collectors both private and institutional, museums and academics. We understand that a major concern especially for first-time buyers is the question of authenticity and provenance. At Phillips we take these concerns seriously. Our pieces are sourced from trusted dealers and collectors. Every piece is vetted for age, condition and authenticity. We also seek the opinion of experts when required. The objects are carefully researched and catalogued and we provide a Phillips certificate of authenticity.
