Alvin Chen

Alvin Chen is a Group Leader and Senior Scientist focused on AI for Healthcare at Philips, where they lead research teams developing innovative ultrasound imaging and machine learning technologies. Previously, they worked as a Machine Learning Researcher at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, specializing in functional brain imaging and representation learning. Alvin also served as a Scientist and Senior Scientist at Philips from 2016 to 2021, concentrating on medical image analysis and interventional oncology. They held a prestigious NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Fellowship, conducting PhD research in biomedical robotics, machine learning, and computer vision. Alvin earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a dual major in Philosophy and a minor in Neuroscience from Rutgers University-New Brunswick.
