Brian Tidball

Brian Tidball, PhD, is a Principal Investigator and Senior User Experience Researcher at Philips, specializing in innovation and development for Philips Sonicare. Tidball leads clinical studies and consumer research in oral healthcare. Previously, as an instructor at the University of Washington, Tidball taught Decision Analysis in Engineering while also serving as an Assistant Professor and Director of Systems Engineering Capstones at the US Air Force Academy. Tidball's extensive career in the US Air Force included roles as an officer and later as Chief of the Combustion Devices Branch at the Air Force Research Laboratory, where responsibilities encompassed managing a substantial research portfolio. Tidball holds a PhD in Industrial Design Engineering from Delft University of Technology, along with multiple Master’s degrees in Human Factors Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from Wright State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington.
