Mark Buchalter

Mark Buchalter is a seasoned design leader with extensive experience in experience design, currently serving as Design Director of Experience Design at Philips since September 2017, where the focus is on enhancing healthcare experiences. Previously, Mark held the position of Director of Experience Design at Hornall Anderson Design Works, leading a multidisciplinary team to create impactful customer experiences. Additional roles include serving as a board member at Design in Public, contributing to urban design initiatives in Seattle, and as a Senior Associate at NBBJ, where strategic services were developed within a global architecture firm. Mark also played a pivotal role as Practice Lead at IDEO, applying human-centered design across various industries, and has experience in project management, furniture making, and design from earlier positions. An MFA in 3D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BS in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University form Mark’s academic foundation.
