Mark van Gastel

Mark van Gastel is currently an Algorithm Development Lead at Philips, where they focus on contactless, camera-based technologies for monitoring vital signs. Prior to this role, Mark served as a Scientist in Philips Research, actively contributing to AI-based clinical decision support and sleep monitoring projects. They defended their PhD thesis in December 2018 at Eindhoven University of Technology, collaborating with Philips Research and the Kempenhaeghe Center for Sleep Medicine on vital signs monitoring. Mark has also held positions as a University Researcher and Senior Data Scientist, along with experience at Bosch Security Systems and Dräger.
