Reed Barker has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Reed started their career at WSAV-TV, where they worked as a producer, director, writer, and editor. Reed then moved on to become a production manager at WNGM-TV, where they managed the production department and oversaw a team of interns.

In 1989, Reed joined The Weather Channel as a Vice President, leading cross-functional groups and later managing a 20-person team. Reed played a crucial role in developing strategies for advanced television platforms and successfully launched a new system for delivering local forecast information to TWC affiliates. During their time at The Weather Channel, Reed also worked as a post-production editor, producer, and product manager for award-winning multimedia, internet, and video productions.

After leaving The Weather Channel, Reed held various positions in the technology and consulting industry. At TANDBERG Television, they served as a Senior Director of Product Management, where they managed the roll-out of a secure content delivery solution for video-on-demand (VOD) content. Later, they worked as a consultant at Broadband Insights, before founding their own consulting firm, Reed More Consulting.

In 2009, Reed joined Canoe Ventures, LLC as a VP of Product Development, where they played a key role in building a platform for advanced advertising across multiple MSO technologies and footprints. Reed led the product development for the first national VOD Dynamic Ad Insertion initiative and directed the launch of multiple networks on a multi-MSO footprint.

Most recently, Reed worked at The Weather Channel as the VP of Cable Ad Products, where they were responsible for exploiting a platform of over 5000 localization devices to provide targeted advertising solutions based on weather and location. Reed also developed an ad platform back office and created an unwired network for selling advertising based on big data analysis.

Overall, Reed Barker has extensive experience in advertising, product development, consulting, and multimedia production, making him a valuable asset in the media and technology industry.

Reed Barker attended The University of Georgia from 1981 to 1985, majoring in Journalism with a focus on Radio, TV, and Film.
