Katrin Klingenberg

Katrin Klingenberg is a co-founder and co-executive director of Phius (Passive House Institute US), where they have played a pivotal role in advancing passive building standards over the past 20 years. Klingenberg designed the first home in the U.S. to meet passive house standards in 2003 and founded e-co lab to promote affordable passive housing solutions. They have held academic positions at the University of Illinois and contributed to numerous publications on building science and sustainable architecture. Klingenberg has received multiple awards for leadership in sustainability, including the 2024 Alumni Award of Achievement from Ball State University.
