Phlit
Phlit is a DTU-based start-up whose mission is to disrupt the clean tech industry by unlocking the flexibility of electrical drives - the largest global consumers of electricity. In particular, around a half of global electrical energy consumption is used for supplying electrical motors in applications such as pumps, fans and compressors. Currently, around 20% of these motors are connected to the power grid via variable speed drives (VSDs), which provide an opportunity to flexibly control them. Our mission is to smartly control these assets and unlock their vast cost-free flexibility - to improve their efficiencies at the individual level and to counterbalance the power grid volatility caused by the high penetration renewables by aggregating them with other flexible energy assets such as batteries, EV chargers, electrolyzers and others. Our technology has the potential to reduce yearly CO2 emissions by hundreds of thousands of metric tons in Denmark alone.
