Sandra Kolb

Head of Localisation & CS at Phoenix Games

Sandra Kolb has had extensive work experience in the gaming and localization industry. Sandra is currently the Head of Localisation & CS at Phoenix Games | Global Family of Games Companies, a position they have held since February 2021. Prior to that, they were the Head of Publishing Services at The Phoenix Lighthouse GmbH from April 2020 to February 2021.

Before joining Phoenix Games, Sandra worked at Flaregames | F2P Mobile Games Publisher, where they served as the Head of Publishing Services from January 2019 to April 2020. Sandra also held the role of Localisation Manager from April 2015 to December 2018, where they handled translation and localisation requests, developed best practices, conducted UI reviews, controlled costs, and performed various other tasks.

Sandra's earlier experience includes roles at Disney Interactive Studios as a Production Manager EMEA from January 2013 to September 2014 and as a Project Coordinator & German Team Lead from January 2011 to December 2012. Sandra also worked as a Project Services Coordinator at Xerox from June 2010 to November 2010.

Prior to that, Sandra worked as a Localisation Project Manager at Universally Speaking from September 2008 to February 2010. Sandra also held positions at Change-Job.com as a Recruiter for QA, Localisation, and Game Designers from May 2008 to August 2008 and as an Administrator/Resourcer from April 2008 to May 2008.

Sandra gained early experience in the gaming industry as a German Localisation Technician at Eidos from January 2008 to April 2008 and as a German Localisation and QA Tester at I-play from April 2006 to January 2008. Sandra also worked as a Freelance Language Trainer at Katakura WBLC from April 2005 to September 2005.

Sandra Kolb completed their M.A. degree in English, English Medieval Studies, and Information Science from the University of Düsseldorf between 1997 and 2002. In 2005, they attended Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München to study Teaching German as a Foreign Language, but no specific degree was mentioned for this period. Furthermore, Sandra also pursued Journalism and Creative Writing at Freie Kunstschule Zürich from 2000 to 2003. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Duolingo English Fluency: Expert certification in November 2015 from Duolingo.
