Michael Bateson

Michael Bateson currently serves as the ESG Investment Risk Manager at Phoenix Group since March 2023. Prior to this role, Michael worked at EY as an Assistant Manager in FS Climate Change & Sustainability Services and previously held the position of Senior Consultant in the same department from March 2021 to March 2023. Michael's experience includes roles at Sancroft as a Senior Sustainability/ESG Analyst and at Black Sun as a Research Consultant. Earlier career experiences include positions as an ESL Teacher at Siam Computer and Language School and various trainee analyst roles at Aon Benfield, as well as a Sales and Marketing Analyst at IBM during a gap year placement. Michael holds a degree in Environment & Business with a focus on Sustainability from the University of Leeds, completed between 2012 and 2015.
