John C. Waite

John C. Waite's work experience includes being a Breakthrough Energy Fellow at Breakthrough Energy since 2022. John C. is also the Co-founder and CEO of Phycobloom since 2019. Previously, they were an Entrepreneur as part of the LD-13 Cohort at Entrepreneur First from 2019 to 2020, where they focused on developing technologies to address the climate crisis. Before that, they were a Dphil Student at the University of Oxford from 2015 to 2019, where their research focused on Refractory Body-Centred Cubic High-Entropy Alloys for Nuclear Fusion. John C. also held a position as a Non-Stipendiary Lecturer in Materials Science at St Edmund Hall from 2017 to 2019, where they taught and marked coursework and exam papers. Additionally, they were a Materials Intern at Rolls-Royce for a 10-week internship in 2014, working on modeling crevice corrosion using COMSOL. John C. also had internships at Huawei in 2013 and served as a Student Caller at St Edmund Hall in 2013. John C. was also an Open Day Helper at St Edmund Hall from 2012 to 2013.
