Muhammad Farooq has extensive work experience in the field of Machine Learning. Muhammad began their career in 2011 as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Alabama, where they conducted research on Convolutional Neural Networks for identification of food types in food images and evaluated a wearable system to provide feedback on eating habits of users. Muhammad also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, where they conducted lab sessions and graded assignments. In 2017, Farooq joined Phyn as a Manager of Machine Learning and later progressed to Senior Machine Learning Engineer.
Muhammad Farooq has a comprehensive education history. Muhammad obtained a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from 2004 to 2008. Muhammad then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 2011 to 2013 at The University of Alabama. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Alabama in 2016. Additionally, they have certifications in Data Science and Analytics Career Paths and Certifications from LinkedIn (obtained in October 2016), Deep Learning 101 from Big Data University, Machine Learning with Python from Big Data University, and an edX Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to R from edX.
