Ivan Protopopov is a seasoned professional in venture capital and corporate governance with extensive experience in deeptech investment and board leadership. As a Partner at Phystech Ventures since July 2014, Ivan focuses on early-stage investments across multiple sectors, including computing, life sciences, and energy. Ivan serves on the boards of Axel, Geonaft, and Fidesys, contributing to advancements in standardized communication technologies, real-time drilling optimization, and computer-aided engineering software. Previously, Ivan co-founded and led Atom Partners as CEO, facilitating M&A and fundraising in the tech sector, and advised corporate finance strategies at Media 3 United Printing Houses. Ivan holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance from the State University — Higher School of Economics, completed in 2009.
