Daniel Acton

Daniel Acton has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Daniel is currently serving as the Head of Strategy and Partnerships at PHYTunes Inc since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the U.S. Department of State as a Senior Advisor in the Office of Management Strategy & Solutions starting from June 2019.

In 2014, Acton joined Dande Stratics, where they provided digital and data transformation assessments, solutions, and services to CEO & C-Suite and Executive Program Managers in the public and private sectors. Daniel incorporated their specialized background in data and cyber strategies into their work.

Acton also held the position of Managing Director of Digital Transformation at Milestone Technologies, Inc. from April 2019 to November 2019. In this role, they oversaw the company's digital transformation efforts.

From 2011 to 2014, Acton served as a Director (PRTM Executive Vice President) at PwC. Daniel provided business strategy and technology solutions for digital transformation services to clients such as AT&T, Sprint, Frontier, and MetroPCS.

Prior to joining PwC, Acton was the CTO and CIO at Virgin Mobile USA from January 2008 to March 2010. Daniel successfully consolidated legacy systems and operations, achieving significant cost and staff reductions.

Earlier in their career, Acton worked at IBM Global Services as a Partner, leading the delivery of complex digital systems integration programs. Daniel played a pivotal role in creating an executive program management team and implementing strategic planning methodologies and tools from 2005 to 2007.

Acton also served in multiple active and reserve command leadership roles in the US Navy from June 2001 to January 2005.

Before their military service, Acton was the President and COO at LaserComm, Inc. & Luminent, Inc., subsidiaries of MRV Communications. Daniel played a key role in the start-up and IPO of the fiber optics manufacturing and engineering production company. Additionally, Acton worked as the Director of Business Development at Corning Incorporated from September 1996 to January 2000.

Daniel Acton has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University. Daniel also holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering (B.S.S.E.) with a specialization in Control Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy. In addition, Daniel was awarded a Doctoral Scholarship in Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. Daniel also completed an Executive Management Program at Columbia Business School. Furthermore, Daniel studied NOAA Computer Systems at the University of Miami.
