Julia Bernut has a diverse and extensive work experience. In 2009, they graduated from Swinburne University of Technology with a Bachelor of Interior Design. From 2012-2013, they worked as an Assistant Project Manager for N&C the French Touch, where they were responsible for organizing the first French Polynesian Festival in Melbourne Victoria, promoting the event, and advertising it on social media. In 2013, they worked as a Design Assistant for Botany Weaving Mill, where they designed the book collection for the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2012 in Hamburg. From 2014-2018, they worked for Virgin Active as a Membership Consultant, 2RKS Architecture + Design as a Design Assistant, and Fülhaus Inc as an Interior Designer. Most recently, in 2019, they began working for Piccles as a Design Director and in 2020, they started their own business, Tahitian Nomad, where they work as an Owner, Interior Designer, Graphic Designer, and Illustrator.

Julia Bernut completed their French Baccalaureat at Lycee LaMennais from 2001 to 2009. Julia then obtained a Certificate in English from Milton College in 2009. From 2010 to 2013, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and Communication Design from Swinburne University of Technology. Julia then completed a Diploma in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Australian Pacific College from 2013 to 2014. Finally, they obtained a Master's Degree in Gestion de projet d'aménagement from Université de Montréal from 2016 to 2018.
