Volkan Evrin

Volkan Evrin has a diverse work experience in the field of information security and technology management. Volkan is currently working as the Information Security Director at Picus Security since May 2021. In addition, they hold the position of President at ISACA Ankara Chapter since March 2021. Volkan also has experience as a Part-time Instructor at Bilkent University since August 2020.

Prior to their current roles, Volkan worked at Karel Electronics for a significant duration. Volkan served as the Enterprise Applications and Information Security Manager from December 2011 to May 2021. During this period, they also held the position of Database Management and Software Development Manager from December 2011 to January 2014. Before these roles, Volkan worked as the IT Manager at Karel Electronics from May 1998 to December 2011.

Before joining Karel Electronics, Volkan gained experience as a System Administrator at Middle East Technical University Computer Center from March 1996 to August 1997.

In addition to their formal education, Volkan Evrin holds multiple certifications. In 2011, they obtained the CEH v6 (Certified Ethical Hacker) certification from EC-Council. In 2013, they obtained the CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification from ISACA. Subsequently, in 2015, they became an ISO 27001 Lead Auditor through the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). In 2017, they obtained the CEH v9 certification from EC-Council. In 2018, they achieved the CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control) certification from ISACA. Additionally, they became an APMG Accredited Trainer for CISA in the same year.

Volkan Evrin continued to pursue additional certifications. In 2019, they achieved the APMG Accredited Trainer for Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control™ (CRISC) certification from APMG International. In 2020, they obtained the COBIT® 2019 Foundation Certificate from ISACA and became an APMG Accredited Trainer for COBIT® 2019 Foundation. Additionally, they earned the ISO 20000 Lead Auditor certification and the ISO 22301:2019 Lead Auditor (CQI – IRCA Accredited) certification from ISO.

More recently, in 2021, Volkan Evrin obtained the ISO 27701:2019 Privacy Information Management System (PIMS) Lead Auditor certification from ISO. Lastly, in 2022, they became an APMG Accredited Trainer - Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer™ (CDPSE™) through APMG International.
