Ashley Schmidt

Ashley Schmidt is a communications professional specializing in storytelling, strategy, and both external and internal communications. Currently, Ashley serves as the Senior Director of Member Engagement and Communications at the PIE Network, collaborating with over 100 member organizations. Previously, Ashley led the communications efforts for the Tennessee Department of Education, managing a team and driving communications strategies while supporting staff in crafting clear messages. With a background in journalism and education, Ashley has also taught English and writing at various educational institutions, winning awards for excellence in teaching. Ashley earned a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from the University of Missouri - St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media Journalism from Middle Tennessee State University.
