Behind a simple storefront on Oakland’s Piedmont Avenue you will discover a full-service grocery store that has been part of the neighborhood for more than 100 years. Generations of shoppers know that they can find gourmet products along with everyday household items.

At Piedmont Grocery, we are committed to serving the tastes of our customers and are always on the lookout for new products. We love local, and connect with many food artisans throughout the Bay Area to stock their products on our shelves.

We have artisan cheeses and chocolate, pasta and sauces that make delicious, quick meals. Our Bay Area community is known for its ethnicities, and we stock imported delicacies that make it easy for them to make their traditional recipes with authentic ingredients.

Our produce manager places a big emphasis on seasonal ingredients. We carry pristine organic produce and have been known to carry as many as 14 kinds of mushrooms at one time. We have exclusive partnerships with some of the best local producers, including Fitzgerald Farms Fruit. Our emphasis is on making sure that all of our produce is of the highest quality.

Singles love us--they can buy bacon a slice at a time or pick up complete meals at our takeout bar. We think we have the best selection of takeout on the Avenue: hot and cold items, a dazzling salad bar, entrees, pastas and ethnic foods.

We think we’ve got it right. Competitive pricing, great sales, excellent service and the best products we can find.
