Ariel Shiftan

Ariel Shiftan has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Ariel is currently Co-Founder & CTO at Piiano, a position they have held since January 2021. In addition, they are an Insider at YL Ventures since July 2021.

Prior to their current roles, Ariel worked as a Machine Learning Specialist at Zzapp Malaria from December 2019 to May 2020. Before that, they held several positions at Magic Leap, including Sr. Director, Consultant from August 2019 to November 2019, Sr. Director, Head of Product Security from April 2018 to August 2019, and Distinguished Engineer, SW Security Architect from April 2016 to May 2018.

Ariel also co-founded and served as CTO at NorthBit from January 2012 to April 2016, and worked as a Software and Projects Leader at Lucid from July 2006 to March 2013. Ariel worked as a CPU and Memory Optimizations contractor at Feedzilla from October 2010 to May 2011, and as a Teaching Assistant at Bar Ilan University from February 2009 to August 2009.

Ariel's early career includes roles at IDF, where they worked as a Research Team Leader from January 2005 to June 2006, and in Software Research from January 2002 to March 2005.

Ariel Shiftan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science, Theory from Bar-Ilan University. This degree was earned from 2010 to 2016. Prior to obtaining the Ph.D., Ariel completed a Master of Science (Msc) degree in Computer Science at Bar-Ilan University from 2008 to 2010. Before the Msc, Ariel obtained a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) degree in Computer Science from Bar-Ilan University from 2006 to 2008. In addition to these degrees, Ariel also pursued a few courses at The Open University from 2004 to 2005, although the field of study for these courses is not specified.
