Yan Pan is an experienced engineer currently building AI products at Pika since October 2025. Previously, Yan served as a member of the technical staff at Genmo, focusing on data curation and infrastructure for video generation. Prior roles include a research assistant in the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in non-convex optimization, multimodal machine learning, and online learning, as well as various teaching assistant positions in computer science courses. Yan also gained experience as a quantitative research intern at Akuna Capital, where the focus was on volatility trading strategies for 0DTE index options. Yan holds a Master of Science in Machine Learning and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, both from Carnegie Mellon University, and studied briefly at Tsinghua University.
