VP Architecture at Piksel

Gary Thomas has extensive work experience as a VP of Architecture and Technical Architect in the software industry. Gary started their career at IMS Health in 1991, where they worked as a Senior Analyst / Programmer until 1997. After that, they joined Derwent Information as a Senior Analyst / Programmer until 1999. From 1999 to 2002, they worked at Citria as a Technical Architect, specializing in Microsoft-based technologies.

In 2002, Gary moved to ioko, where they held the role of VP Architecture. Gary then transitioned to Piksel Inc., formerly known as KIT digital and ioko, where they continued their role as VP Architecture and was responsible for technical architecture, consultancy, presales, and software delivery. At Piksel, their focus was on video-on-demand solutions for a major UK broadcaster, utilizing .NET, Windows Media DRM, Windows XP Media Center, and the Kontiki grid software.

In 2006, Gary joined Channel 4's VOD PC Product 4oD as a Technical Architect. Gary played a crucial role in this project until 2008. Finally, in 2011, they returned to KIT digital AG as a VP of Architecture.

Gary Thomas attended Pocklington from 1984 to 1987 and Cundall from 1978 to 1985, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for either institution. In terms of additional certifications, Gary Thomas obtained an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December 2021.
