Waseem Daher is the co-founder and CEO of Pilot, a company that provides a better way to manage business travel. Waseem has over fifteen years of experience in the technology industry, including founding and leading two companies that were acquired by larger tech firms.
Waseem's first foray into the tech world was as an intern at Amazon.com in 2005. Waseem then went on to intern at Google, AOL, and Devis before landing their first full-time job as a software engineer at OkCupid.com in 2007. After a brief stint at OkCupid, Waseem co-founded Ksplice, a company that developed technology to update running Linux systems without requiring a reboot. Ksplice was acquired by Oracle in 2011, and Waseem served as Senior Director there for a year before leaving to start Zulip, a group collaboration tool for businesses. In 2014, Dropbox acquired Zulip, and Waseem stayed on as Group Product Manager until 2016.
In 2017, Waseem co-founded Pilot with the goal of making business travel easier and more efficient for both employees and employers. Pilot has raised over $15 million in funding from investors like Accel Partners, Y Combinator, and Initialized Capital, and it is currently used by over 1,000 companies including Adobe, Airbnb, Slack, and Stripe.
Waseem Daher has a MEng in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Waseem also has a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the same school.
