John Kern

John Kern, P.E., currently serves as Senior Vice President of Pre-Construction at Pine Gate Renewables since May 2023, following a role as Vice President of Pre-Construction. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Solar & Energy Storage Development at Convergent Energy + Power, where leadership involved managing the development of 600MW of storage and solar projects across various US regions. Kern has held multiple director and managerial positions at Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives, Merit SI, Keller & Kirkpatrick Engineering, First Solar, and Jacobs, amassing extensive expertise in project development, engineering, and permitting for renewable energy systems. Academic credentials include an M.B.A. in Finance from Rutgers Business School and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware, along with a minor in Economics.
