Jay Copeland currently serves as Head Coach at The Lawson Academy since August 2022 and is a Football Coach at Pine Tree ISD, a position held since June 2024. Previously, Jay worked as a Fitness Trainer at the APEC - Athlete Performance Enhancement Center from May 2020 to September 2020. Additionally, Jay held the role of Vice President at Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity from December 2021 to May 2022. Jay's educational background includes a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Houston (2019-2021) and an Associate of Arts in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Kilgore College (2017-2019). Jay also coaches junior high track and serves as a varsity tight ends coach while teaching elementary PE.
