Harry Scholes

Harry Scholes is a Senior Software Engineer at Pinecone, where responsibilities include building the data plane of a serverless vector database since July 2023. Previously, Harry served as a Backend Engineer at This One from April 2022 to July 2023, architecting and building an entire backend API, implementing a Python FastAPI asyncio server, and deploying a scalable serverless backend API to Google Cloud Run. Experience at Delphi Digital involved building smart contracts for a blockchain DeFi protocol in Rust and developing integration tests in TypeScript. Earlier roles include backend engineering for cryptocurrency applications at Monolith and a research position at the European Bioinformatics Institute, where Harry identified novel plastic-degrading enzymes. Educational qualifications include an MBiochem from the University of Oxford, a PhD in Bioinformatics from UCL, and an MSc from Imperial College London.
