Jinpeng Zhang

Jinpeng Zhang is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in the field of distributed databases and storage systems. Currently serving as Sr. Engineering Director and Head of Storage at PingCAP since June 2016, Jinpeng has spearheaded the development of TiKV, a next-generation distributed SQL database. Prior roles at PingCAP include directing the Data Platform with a focus on Change Data Capture as a Service, cross-region data replication, and leading teams responsible for storage and database kernel development. Before joining PingCAP, Jinpeng held positions at Baidu, JD.COM, 简网, and NetDragon, where contributions spanned areas such as distributed systems, natural language processing, and database management. Jinpeng is also an author, having published a book on MariaDB principles and implementation.
