Andrew Waters

Andrew Waters has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and research. Andrew currently holds the position of Director of Data Science at Pinnacle since September 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Principal Data Scientist at Pinnacle from February 2020 to September 2021. Before joining Pinnacle, Andrew worked at OpenStax as a Data Scientist from February 2014 to February 2020, where they contributed to educational outcome analysis and data denoising. Andrew also served as a Mentor at Thinkful from August 2017 to August 2018. In terms of research experience, Andrew worked as a Research Assistant at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Rice University from August 2008 to January 2013. Andrew gained industry exposure through an internship at Texas Instruments in June 2012. Andrew's early experience includes working as a Communication Systems Analyst at L3 Communication Systems - West from April 2004 to May 2008, where they focused on communication system design and analysis.

From 2004 to 2006, Andrew Waters attended the University of Utah, where they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical Engineering. Following this, from 2008 to 2013, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University.
