Thomas Marek

Thomas Marek has a vast and diverse work experience. Thomas currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at PinSeeker since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Abe.ai from 2016 to 2021, where they held the position of VP Engineering from April 2017 to March 2021 and Senior Software Engineer from May 2016 to March 2017. Before Abe.ai, Thomas worked at IZEA as a Senior Software Engineer / Team Lead from September 2015 to April 2016.

From January 2015 to June 2015, Thomas worked at Switcher.ie as the Lead Engineer, where they played a pivotal role in the technical aspects of a multi-application site relaunch. Thomas also built a Rack middleware to process Varnish's ESI statements in the development environment.

Prior to Switcher.ie, Thomas worked as a Consultant at Otto Group in October to December 2014. Thomas handled the setup of a group-wide server and application configuration management system.

Thomas also worked at Switcher.ie from May 2014 to September 2014. During this time, they worked as a Consultant and Lead Engineer. Noteworthy achievements include supervising the agile workflow, using project management tool Trello, and improving the company's productivity and quality of work. Thomas also played a key role in migrating the cloud-based application stack and optimizing page load time.

From October 2012 to March 2013, Thomas worked at Switcher.ie as a Software Engineer. Thomas installed a staging environment and developed a Node.js application to track user activity and improve the performance of Google AdWords campaigns.

Thomas's earliest work experience is with BioSolveIT GmbH. From June 2005 to September 2012, they worked as a Scrum Master and Software Engineer. Noteworthy projects include developing the back-end for the EU-funded Project Open PHACTS at chembionavigator.org using Rails.

Thomas Marek completed a three-year professional training program at BioSolveIT GmbH from 2002 to 2005. During this time, they earned a certification as a computer specialist. The program focused on software development and fundamental economic principles.
