Jie Yang

Jie Yang is currently a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Pinterest, where they focus on visual generative AI research and product innovation within the Advanced Technology Group. Jie previously served as a Senior Software Engineer at Waymo, specializing in self-driving car perception, and was a Software Engineer at Google, where they worked on AI/ML applications in medical imaging. Jie began their career as a Research Assistant at Columbia University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, contributing to various projects in lung cancer prediction, COPD diagnosis, and real-time image registration for neurosurgery. Jie holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
