Pipal Tree is a UK registered charity that is building resilient communities and restoring biodiversity in Nepal.

We have five main programme areas:

1. Community-based urban and rural reforestation in Kathmandu valley and Madhesh Province respectively. We have been pioneering the use in Nepal of the rapid-growth Miyawaki Method.
2. Mitigation of snakebite mortality through the safe rescue of snakes from residential areas and their return to the forests.
3. Supporting the education of the lowest caste children in south Nepal through Community Learning Centres (CLCs) that we build and operate to underpin children's attendance at mainstream schools and by providing bursaries to older children to allow them to complete a full education.
4. Developing livelihoods and providing training for low caste women in rural areas and for young women who are deaf in Kathmandu valley. We support women moving into employment or setting up their own businesses.
5. The operation of a refuge for rape survivors in Janakpur, south Nepal.

We will be competing for the 2030 Earthshot Prize and we are inviting major donors or corporates to partner with us.
