Simon Cheng has worked in a variety of roles in the past 18 years. In 2002, they joined Horizon Capital as Vice President, where they were part of the founding team and helped grow assets under management from US$8mn to US$400mn. In 2006, they became Director of the Strategic Planning Group at Shanghai Media Group, where they led 8x oversubscribed US$27mn Series A financing for Dragon New Media and negotiated landmark content deals with Newscorp, Disney, Sohu and Premier League Soccer. In 2010, they founded and became CEO of Han Lion Group, launching and operating Simon's Test Kitchen providing cold pressed juice and healthy meal delivery to office lunch crowd in Shanghai, as well as launching and growing Eat Drink Tea Pu'er Tea Essence to no. 1 selling tea in natural, specialty retail in Hong Kong in 10 months. In 2016, they co-founded and became CEO of Pique, a company at the intersection of plants and science and the source of beauty from within. In 2018, they became a member of the Nutrition Round Table at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Simon Cheng holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University in Simon'story, and an Inter-University Program for Chinese Studies. Advanced Philosophy and Literature Program from Tsinghua University, where they studied Classic of Herbal Medicine, I-Ching, Tao Te Ching, Art of War and other Daoist classics.
