Abe Scarr

Abe Scarr has worked for PIRG since 2002, transitioning from a campus organizer and organizing director to an advocacy role focused on legislative efforts. As the Energy and Utilities Program Director at PIRG and the Director at Illinois PIRG, they have championed laws for zero waste solutions and consumer protection in financial and energy markets. Currently, Abe spends their time as a utility watchdog advocating for Illinois ratepayers and pushing for a clean energy future. They hold a BA in Philosophy from Haverford College, which they completed in 2002.
