Yoichi Ochiai has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Yoichi is currently working as the Producer of Signature Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of R&D center for Digital Nature and Associate Professor at the University of Tsukuba from December 2017. Before that, they served as an Assistant Professor at the same university from May 2015 to November 2017.
In 2017, Ochiai became the CEO of Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. Yoichi also served as an Advisor to the President at the University of Tsukuba and held the position of CEO at Pixie Dust Technologies. Additionally, they worked as a Visiting Professor at Osaka University of Arts and Digital Hollywood University, starting in April 2017.
Earlier in their career, Ochiai was a Committee Member at the Information Processing Society of Japan starting in June 2014. Yoichi also founded and worked as an Artist at jiseCHI since July 2011. Furthermore, they were recognized as a Super Creator by IPA in 2010.

Yoichi Ochiai's education history begins in 2011 when they enrolled at the University of Tokyo to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Computer Science. Yoichi successfully completed this program in 2013. Afterward, from 2013 to 2015, Yoichi Ochiai attended The University of Tokyo and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science.
In addition to their academic achievements, Yoichi Ochiai has also obtained several certifications that showcase their expertise and recognition in the field. In 2017, they received the "Leaders of Tomorrow" certification from the St. Gallen Symposium. Later on, in 2021, they obtained the "Apollo Magazine 40 UNDER 40 ART AND TECH" certification from Apollo – The International Art Magazine, the "PMI Future 50" certification from the Project Management Institute, and the "MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 Japan" certification from MIT Technology Review.
