Pizzastenen.dk is an independent Danish guide to pizza stones, baking stones and baking steel. We are not a shop — we do not sell stones, and we hold no inventory.

The site compares the materials these products are actually made of (cordierite, ceramic, terracotta, lava stone and steel) and explains what each one does to the crust: how quickly it delivers heat, how long it must be preheated, how much it weighs, and what it can survive. Most people who are disappointed by their first pizza stone did nothing wrong when buying it — they simply were not told that the stone needs far longer to heat through than the oven does.

Alongside material comparisons, the site covers what happens after the purchase: oven temperature, preheating times, using a stone on a kettle grill, cleaning without ruining it, and why stones crack.
