Dana S. Toops

Dana Toops is Chief Scientific Officer at PL Developments. He is an experienced leader with more than 30 years of pharmaceutical industry experience holding various positions of increasing responsibility. During the first 18 years of his career, he worked at Upjohn, Pharmacia and Pfizer. He also worked with Azopharma Contract Resources as Vice President of Quality & Regulatory Affairs and was Executive Director of US Research & Development for Banner Pharmacaps prior to joining PL Developments in 2009. His experience includes nine years of discovery R&D in infectious diseases and medicinal chemistry culminating in eleven publications and four granted patents. Additionally, he has more than 16 years of experience in drug product and active pharmaceutical ingredients manufacturing (R&D to commercialization) in the areas of quality compliance, regulatory affairs, formulation development and project management, with one pending formulation patent.
