Dwayne Mears

Dwayne Mears is a seasoned planning professional with extensive experience in urban and regional planning, serving as Principal at PlaceWorks since August 1985. This position coincided with the firm's 40th anniversary in 2015 and Mears' 30th year with the company, which originally began as CPR Inc. Mears also contributed as a Board Member for the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (C.A.S.H.) from February 2016 to February 2022. Previous roles include Environmental Planner at PRC from 1980 to 1985, Planner II for the Town of Carrboro, North Carolina, from January 1979 to May 1980, and Planning Intern at the Tulare County Planning Department in 1977. Mears holds a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
