Erina Shimanuki is an accomplished urban planner with a Bachelor's Degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Currently serving as an Associate at PlaceWorks since March 2023, Erina has previously held roles including Assistant Planner at RRM Design Group and Urban Designer at Community Design + Architecture. As a Co-Founder of the Sunrise Movement chapter at Cal Poly, Erina actively promoted awareness of climate issues. Additional experience includes positions as a Transit Analyst at Bishop Peak Technology, Front of House Director and Student Showcase Director at TEDxSanLuisObispo, and a Development Intern at Brookfield Residential, focusing on the entitlement and permitting process for a community project.
