Joseph Ruiz

Joseph Ruiz is an experienced environmental planner currently employed at PlaceWorks since May 2023. Prior roles include a social media intern at the UCI Newkirk Center, where responsibilities involved designing campaigns, managing content calendars, and coordinating with the communications team. Additional experience encompasses internships in transportation planning at Mark Thomas, research internships focusing on public health and environmental issues in Southeast Los Angeles with Communities for a Better Environment and UCLA, and a position as a phone banker for Power California advocating for Proposition 15. Joseph Ruiz has a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from UC Irvine and a dual Bachelor's degree in History and Chicano Studies from UCLA, complemented by an Associate degree from the Los Angeles Community College District.
