Alex Widen

Alex Widen is an experienced professional in business and corporate development, currently serving as the Business & Corporate Development Lead for Plaid's Identity Verification (IDV) Business Unit since 2020. Responsibilities include overseeing product partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, investments, and strategic initiatives. Prior to Plaid, Alex held leadership roles at MoneyLion and distinguished positions at SoFi and Foundation Capital, contributing to strategic investments and fintech deal sourcing. Noteworthy achievements include co-leading the acquisition and integration of Cognito while at Plaid. Alex founded Sumeria Group, an online marketplace that connected young professionals with social events, which was later acquired by Trigger Media Group. Academic credentials include an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Amherst College.
