Sofia Mesa

Sofia Mesa is an Operations Manager at Break Free From Plastic and a dedicated advocate for sustainability. Specializing in grassroots organizing and policy advocacy, Sofia has focused on climate crisis solutions, education, and equitable access through initiatives like plant-rich diets and plastic reduction. They previously served as a Gulf South Florida Fellow at The Climate Initiative and as Internship Director at Debris Free Oceans, managing educational efforts and community projects aimed at creating zero waste solutions. Sofia holds a BA in Environmental Science and English from the University of Miami, where they also received the Roberta "Bosey" Fullbright Award for environmental stewardship.
