Planaro is a research and development project from the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, OST. Its goal is to make internal production processes more flexible, compact and efficient.

At the core of the project is a novel multidirectional shuttle system for intralogistics and flexible production automation. Unlike conventional conveyor based solutions, Planaro enables free movement on a flat surface, opening up new possibilities for modular production lines, flexible material flows and compact automation concepts.

The project is currently being developed within the framework of student research and development activities at OST. The current focus is on advancing the shuttle system technically, integrating it into application oriented test environments and engaging with potential industry partners.

Planaro represents the vision of adaptive production, where rigid line structures can be complemented or replaced by intelligent, mobile and flexibly deployable transport systems.
