Tim Schaub

Principal Geospatial Architect at Planet Labs

Tim Schaub is a seasoned professional in the geospatial field, currently serving as Principal Geospatial Architect at Planet since April 2014. Previously, Tim held the position of Vice President of Engineering at Boundless (formerly OpenGeo) from July 2007 to April 2014, where extensive contributions were made to browser-based map rendering and vector editing functionality. Earlier experience includes a role as Remote Sensing Research Scientist at HyPerspectives Inc. from 2006 to 2007, leading geospatial software projects and managing a National Science Foundation-funded research grant. Tim also worked as a Geospatial Software Engineer at CommEn Space from 2001 to 2006, developing internet mapping applications for non-profit organizations. Tim holds a Master of Science degree in Geology with a focus on Remote Sensing from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Math and Natural Science from the University of Puget Sound.
