Jason Fane has been in the tech industry since 2008. Jason began their career at The University of Texas at San Antonio as a System Analyst and Assistant Instructional Designer. In 2012, they joined Rackspace Technology as a Linux System Administrator I, providing phone and ticket support for mid-market sized customers. Jason was later promoted to Linux System Administrator II, where they volunteered time at the Open Cloud Academy (OCA) teaching and providing real world examples and skills. Additionally, they were promoted to Linux System Administrator III and optimized maintenance work flow through automation, allowing for a 50% cut in preparation time. Jason then became a Site Reliability Engineer, providing dedicated support and timely resolution to clients during sales events or production down events. In 2021, they joined PlanetScale as a Customer Support Engineer.

Jason Fane attended Medina Valley ISD from 2003 to 2005. Jason then went on to The University of Texas at San Antonio from 2005 to 2011, where they received a degree in Information Systems and Accounting from the Business field of study. Jason also holds certifications from Red Hat, Inc. including RHCE - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (2014), RHCSA - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (2013), and Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Server Hardening (2015).
